Operations Manager – Lead Our Finnish Operations

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Operations Manager to lead Bertschi Finland. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for the overall operational performance and profitability of our Finnish subsidiary while ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant day-to-day operations.

Working closely with our Nordic Business Unit and international colleagues, you will play an important role in developing local operations, strengthening customer relationships, and driving continuous improvement. This position offers the opportunity to combine strategic leadership with practical operational management in a global organization that values entrepreneurship, safety, and collaboration. 

Your responsibilities

Success in this role is built on trust, collaboration, and the ability to keep both people and operations moving in the right direction. Here’s what your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Lead the daily operations of Bertschi Finland, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective performance.
• Take full responsibility for the subsidiary’s operational performance and profit & loss.
• Ensure compliance with Finnish legislation, permits, company policies, and safety requirements.
• Allocate resources according to business needs while continuously improving operational efficiency, quality, and resilience.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Report operational performance, KPIs, and business development opportunities to the Business Units.
• Lead, coach, and develop a small local team, fostering a culture built on trust, empowerment, diversity, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with international colleagues to implement group strategy and deliver excellent customer service. 

This role offers a varied combination of leadership, operational decision-making, customer interaction, and business development. Some days you’ll focus on strategic planning and financial performance, while others you’ll work closely with customers, support your team, or solve operational challenges together with colleagues across the Nordic organization.

What we’re looking for

To succeed in this role, you have:

• At least 7 years of experience in operational management within a small or medium-sized organization.
• Experience working in an international company, preferably within a subsidiary or divisional structure.
• Understanding of transport logistics, supply chain operations, or terminal operations.
• A hands-on leadership style and the ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution.
• A strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• A proactive, energetic, and solution-oriented mindset with excellent organizational skills.
• The ability to lead and motivate a small team while building strong internal and external relationships.
• Fluent communication skills in both Finnish and English.
